POSITION ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Department of Chicana/o Studies at the University of California, Davis invites
applications for two positions. Applicants must demonstrate exceptional promise as
scholars and teachers and have a committed interest in developing productive community
relations. Ph.D. in Chicana/o Studies or other related field is required by September 29,
2014.

OPEN RANK: OPEN FIELD
Research specialization is open. Candidates with innovative and interdisciplinary
approaches in the field of Chicana/o Studies will be preferred. The successful candidate
will have a strong research agenda or demonstrate potential for research with
interdisciplinary, social justice approaches to Chicana/o Studies and will need to
demonstrate excellence in delivering undergraduate curriculum in Chicana/o Studies. For

OPEN RANK: HEALTH
Research specialization in clinical or health psychology or public health, is preferred.
Candidates with innovative and interdisciplinary approaches to address the health and
mental health needs of immigrants and US born Latina/os and Chicana/os will be
preferred. The successful candidate will have a strong research agenda or demonstrate
potential for research with interdisciplinary, social justice approaches to Chicana/o
Studies and be able to teach undergraduate courses in Community Based Participatory
research methods, quantitative and qualitative approaches to research, Chicana/o health,
mental health and/or health policy. The appointee will complement the current faculty’s
teaching in community health, mental health, and social policy. For more information and
