The Department of Political Science invites applications for a tenure-track, entry-level assistant professor position in American politics, specializing in race and politics, beginning in 2012-13. The Department especially welcomes candidates with additional expertise in related fields, such as urban politics, media and politics, interest groups, religion, social movements, or public policy. In exceptional circumstances, a senior appointment is possible. Candidates should have the Ph.D. in hand by September 2012. Please send a letter detailing current research interests and teaching experience, a curriculum vitae, a writing sample of no more than 40 pages (one chapter or one article), evidence of teaching success, and three letters of recommendation to: American Politics Search Committee, c/o Ms. Nancy Bellows, Political Science Department, 24 Hopkins Hall Drive, Schapiro Hall, Williams College, Williamstown, MA 01267.
